Benjamin Comparot

Benjamin Comparot (picture left) received his first horn lessons at the age of ten from Georg Schmid in Augsburg. At 13 he moved to the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in his hometown, where he was tutored for five years by Jack Meredith, principal horn player in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Benjamin is the horn player and manager of the woodwind quintet OPUS 45, which has been organizing political chamber concert evenings together with the cinema and TV actor Roman Knižka for several years, which are recognized and invited nationwide (for more information: www.opus-45.de). In addition, Benjamin is both artistic and organizational director of the CARNAVAL DU COR; under his leadership, a small, largely neglected horn meeting became Europe's largest regular horn event. When he is not playing the horn himself, organizing horn festivals or world records, he is in demand as an author and project manager for political education topics and – of course – an enthusiastic dad. He has had an intense friendship with co-organizer Markus Meyr-Lischka for school days, which should also be a reason for the success of the festival.

Markus Meyr-Lischka (picture right) received his first horn lessons at the age of 10 from Siegfried Kern (Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Augsburg). Six years later he was accepted as a young student at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in his hometown. First in the class of Jack Meredith, later Ralf Springmann (both horn players with the BR Symphony Orchestra). After graduating from high school at St. Stephan, he began his studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Professor Radovan Vlatkovic and Wilhelm Schwaiger (solo horn player in the Mozarteum orchestra). In 2003 he completed his main studies with an artistic diploma. This was followed by a two-year postgraduate course at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich with Johannes Ritzkowsky (principal horn with the BR Symphony Orchestra). Markus gained a lot of experience in youth and professional orchestras. Tours have taken him to the USA, Iran, France, Italy and China, among others. His main area of responsibility is currently mainly in the instrumental training of children and adolescents. In addition, he makes regular guest appearances with various orchestras in southern Germany and leads the music Society in Gersthofen (Augsburg district).
